Easter

April 13, 2012 by Angela

Easter was quite a bit of fun. A little before Easter, Kelly so sweetly gave us all tickets to go to the junior league breakfast with the bunnies. No, Hugh Heffner was not the host of this. It was a fun little breakfast that me, Amelia and Evelyn went to with Kelly, Blake and Harper and Jessica and Sarah. I dressed the girls in the same outfits and away we went to hang with sweet friends, meet the Easter bunny (although technically Evvy slept through her meeting with mr. bunny (i suppose he just wasn’t as interesting as she would have hoped hehe) and snacked on some yummy breakfast before going into the civic center and doing a little shopping. Pictures below.

Our Easter in Baton Rouge was pretty fun. The weekend before, Grandma and papa came to visit…leaving out that Monday and bringing Amelia with them. We left out for Baton Rouge Thursday after work. I think it goes without saying that Amelia had a BLAST while she was there. I mean, how lucky of a kid(s) (marie was there too) do you have to be to get to be spoiled rotten with a chucky cheese visit (in which amelia wanted to ride every ride there and climb UP their big slide) a bass pro shop visit (in which Amelia accidentally dropped her strawberry shortcake into their huge aquarium to quickly be rescued by the employees before the swarming fish ate her. AND let’s not forget once we got there….the egg dying, crawfish boil, egg hunting fun! Evelyn and Lewis sat out the egg hunting of course but the girls were so very cute hunting for the eggs. since Marie’s favorite color is blue and Amelia’s favorite color is pink, they were hunting Easter eggs but not picking up the others favorite color. They would just yell, “Marie, your blue one is over here” and then leave it. Or, “Amelia, it’s a pink one for you” and then leave it. It was hysterical. Those two could not be any more opposite but they get along beautifully. I love it! Here are some the pictures.

For The Post Below

April 12, 2012 by Angela

Please reference to the post below.   I tried to add text to each picture but it would not let me so I have to do it this way:

First up:  The very interesting castle chicken/cheese/veggie quesadilla.

Second : We have an egg salad sandwich in the shape of an egg.  With some very um, colorful, interesting, oddly placed candy for the decorations on the egg. Niccce.

Third up: Is it a chicken, is it a bear?  NO!  it’s a Monkey!

Fourth: oh yes,  this one.  Against my better judgement (and against the advice of others) I posted this one anyways.  Not sure what I was going for on this one other than a turkey patty face.  Umm, moving on.

Fifth:  Ok, this one isn’t so bad.  Just some homemade chicken/veggie nuggets made into the shape of a heart.  Awww.

Sixth: Well, it’s a sad little lone tuna fish, fishy.  Not much to it. I was in a hurry that morning, okay??? :)

Seventh: Yay, it’s a Sun.  It’s a Flower.  Orr anything else you might think it is!

Fun Lunches For Mia. DO NOT LAUGH…I NEVER SAID THEY WERE GOOD, I SAID THEY WERE FUN! :)

5 months old

April 12, 2012 by Angela

I can not believe Evelyn is already 5 months old! I mean, I know everyone says that but wow. My little red head started turning from tummy to back and from back to tummy towards the end of last month. She is starting to sit for short (very short) I intervals unsupported. She pushes herself up in a pushup type position and works her knees a little but I do not think she is close to crawling just yet. We started her off with spoon feeding her cereal when she turned 4 months. She LOVED the cereal because I assume it was sweet having been mixed with breast milk but the peas she tried…THAT is another story lol. We did peas for a week to ensure she had no reaction to them…then we moved on to carrots. OMG did that girl LOVE carrots! She opened her mouth like a little bird for each bite.

She started sleeping through the night at 4 months…but that meaning, we got her out of bed at 10 and fed her so she would make it to 6 or 7 am. At 5 months, she is just now getting to where she will sleep from 8pm til 5:30 and even then…I don’t think she is starving because she falls asleep while nursing. (I so wish I could just go ahead and get ready for the day at that time but alas I get back in bed and end up sleeping until 6:30 to where I am a lunatic getting us girls out the door).

Evvy is a pretty laid back girl but kinda quiet (besides her giggles and grunts to hear herself). She smiles a lot most of the time and giggles a lot when I pick her up from daycare and when her sissy is talking to her (usually all UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL like lol) What a blessing.

Resolution update

April 12, 2012 by Angela

Well I am doing pretty well with a few of my new years resolutions…writing on my blog obviously not being one of them. Ha.

However, I am pleased to say that I have gotten the house thing down pat. I have the spending time with my kids the cleaning part down! I have been making meals almost every night and plan ahead for them. I have also started making Amelia’s lunch every day because the lunches at school are terrible. Unless you think burritos, chicken patties, and hot dogs are in fact the meal of all meals lol.
I figure out what easy meals we will have for the week and what Amelia will have for lunch and print out the recipe as well as make a grocery list of all items out to the side of each day. Did I mention that I make her lunch meals fun? That is a whole nother blog post.

I have not exactly gotten to the point where my back can be patted for bringing my lunch instead of eating out though. I mean, I have a real problem with this. I LOVE food and I LOVE eating out…and even with choosing somewhat healthy meals at places it is still bad for you health wise and very, very bad for the bank account. So, since I seem to be conquering one thing at a time…let’s make this the next thing. Please. Today, day one, was a good start. I WILL keep it up. :)

Also on the list of resolutions is videoing our kiddos more…I am ehh starting to do this more…

I have also been more spontaneous and more patient. The other day, for example, I stopped at the park on the way home. Not planned. Just did. It had rained the day before so the sand area was flooded big time. My first reaction was, “play on the play ground part and stay out of that water”. There were a few little boys playing in there and mia stared and smiled at the fun they were having. Then i thought, why the heck can’t she play in there again? I told her she could take her shoes off and run and play in there too. She was like, “REALLY? But I will get my dress wet”, I said, “that’s okay, it will dry and can be washed”. It felt so good to say that. She smiled huge and it felt so great to see that. It was a great day and wonderful memory.

Wish me luck on the bringing my lunch and posting on the blog more often!

I am a work in progress but not too shabby so far for 2012!

Summer Time!

March 27, 2012 by Angela

Though it isn’t quite “summer” the weather is getting warmer and beautiful outside so we let our sweet Mia go for a swim in the back yard and our precious Evelyn was able to put her little tootsies in the water with her big sis.  More pictures are to follow but I had to get this picture up on the site ASAP!  How could I not?  Look at that sweet face!

Girly girl? Nah, balanced.

March 6, 2012 by Angela

Amelia is about to turn 4 and is wanting a Rapunzel party. HER CHOICE. She is really into princesses and dresses right now….the frillier and fancier the better. A lot of times we have to talk her into wearing pants instead of dresses. When we get home for the day she immediately wants to put on one of her Disney princess dresses. Her favorite? Sleeping beauty. I think she likes that dress better bc of how fancy it is compared to the others. Again, her choice. Her Daddy is getting a strong dose of how SOME little girls have an infatuation with princesses. :) .
The reason for my emphasis? I get irritated when I am asked if that is Amelia’s choice of party theme or does Amelia like/want to wear dresses every day. The answer is YES! While I agree, some moms push their children towards girly things and pretend it is the child’s idea “oh, my child ONLY likes pink and princesses. And, some moms push their child away from girly things, “OH, my child would not be caught dead in something pink or hates barbies as much as i do” all proud. We do not. I am very proud to say that Brent and I allow our daughter to CHOOSE her own things. I am also very proud that she is the only gal I know who will be playing in the dirt in a fancy pink dress with a superman figurine or playing baby dolls while pretending to be spiderman. Very balanced :)

Big Sister/Sip and See Party

February 14, 2012 by Angela

So after 2 months, I think it is about time I finally blog about the
amazing sip and see/big sister princess themed party my ally good
friends threw for the girls. Jessica Rinaudo, Heather Craven, and
Kelly Powell asked if they could throw a shower for me for Evelyn but
with this being our second baby I declined but said a party to Mia
becoming a big sister would be awesome!  They blew me away with all
the details to this party!  Seriously they could be party planners!
The theme was princess and the colors were pink and plentiful.  Mia
was in heaven!  Tiaras were given, punch equipped with swimming
princess ducks was served, thoughtful yummy food was provided,  and
even a hot coco bar was there to warm you on this December day.  It
was a laid back, warm and cozy come and go setting with the fire
roaring and friends chatting and snuggling our month old baby girl
girl who slept comfortably while being held and passed from loving
arms to loving arms.  Mia felt incredibly loved and important as she
introduced her new baby sister and played with all the kids who came
over too.  I seriously could not have dreamed of a better, more
thoughtful, heartfelt party!!!  What can I say….I have some amazing
friends.  Thank you so much girls and thank you for all who came to
celebrate this new addition of ours.  We are blessed in so many ways.

Here are pictures of the amazing party and a picture of the beautiful frame Jessica made that matches
Evelyn’s room perfectly!
